SO MUCH TO SEE AND DO!

ylsham Lodge Hotel is situated in the ancient market town of Aylsham - a settlement which pre-dates the Norman Conquest of 1066. Today, Aylsham is a thriving working town, which is situated in the midst of some of the most beautiful countryside in England. Perfect as a base for cyclists and walkers, it offers access to dedicated cycleways and footpaths as well as dozens of quiet, picturesque country lanes. There are also many excellent golf courses within easy reach.

Attractions around the area

Bure Valley Railway
The Aylsham Lodge Hotel is but a short walk from the home of the Bure Vallev Railwav, a narrow gauge steam hauled railway which plies a regular seasonal service over the 9 miles between Aylsham and Wroxham, the capital of the Norfolk Broads.

Blickling Hall
Blickling Park lies a mere two miles from the town. Originally the home to King Henry VIII's second wife Anne Boleyn, (mother of our greatest queen, Elizabeth I), the hall is now the East Anglian HQ of the National Trust. Take a trip to Blickling through gentle country lanes. Admission is charged to the Hall, but access to the Park is free.

The Broads
The world famous Norfolk Broads are nearby. Formed as a result of medieval peat diggings, the various Broads are interconnected by 150 miles of waterways.

The Coast
The beautiful and haunting North Norfolk Coast is only twenty minutes drive away. Protected by law for most of its length, the many creeks and inlets are ideal for walkers, sailors & birdwatchers alike.

Norwich City
The Aylsham Lodge Hotel is a mere twenty minutes drive from the heart of the medieval City of Norwich (once England's third city). Take the time to stroll through the ancient streets of this beautiful city, which have changed little in centuries. Visit the great Norman cathedral, built between 1094 and 1145.
